Title: Brake fluid
Description: Can I use the DOT 5 (instead of DOT 3)
Author: panzr4ever

Was servicing my 65 pan and am gonna need to service my rear brake master cylinder. It is a completely stock set up.

Question ...once I clean the master cylinder, all the lines, and rear brake wheel cylinder, along with rebuilding the master cylinder w/ new parts, can I use the DOT 5 (instead of DOT 3) fluid that is sold and advertised for use w/ drum and disc brakes.

Yes, but needs to be a thorough clean.. I final flush everything that was in contact w/Dot 3 w/de-natured alcohol..

You'll be glad U switched...
