Title: Linkert M61-B gas mileage
Description: What kind of gas mileage should I expect with a M61-B linkert
Author: Tracy Smith
What kind of gas mileage should I expect with a M61-B linkert? I get about 60 miles to a tank with 3.5 tanks on my 49EL.
BTW, no fouled plugs and runs good.

Thanks,

Tracy

I get about twice that with my 49 FL. And I think that should improve, since the engine is just barely broken in after a rebuild.
I have been told, as a rule of thumb, a Big Twin should get around 50 mpg, or something is wrong.
So your fuel consumption seems excessive. But, as to what is the most likely cause, I think one of the other forum members can probably advise you better.

Thanks Arther, I have upgraded and correctly set my float and fixed an intake leak. I am just waiting till this weekend to test my mileage. I still have my idle spped jet turned out to much(2 1/4 turns) but that may be something else.
Thanks for your input and I agree 60 MP Tank is way to low. What supprises me is I never fowled a plug but man were they black sooty.
