i have a 1959 pan and need a carb (linkert M ) thats
all the manual calls it.The manual starts at 1959 to
1969 I can get one on ebay but they call them M74 not
just M.
Does anyone have an older manual that will have the info
I need I dont plan to build an absolute correct 1959
pan and if linkert M74 works I will go with it ..I just
dont know what bikes it came out on..
Thanks

M-74 Linkert is a Pan carb. I restored a 57 Fl & that
was the correct carb.
Cotten, is the Linkert "Guru" hopefully he
will stop by & make this more clear...
Correction, the 57 I did had a M-74B My mistake. Sorry.

Thanks Jack, wasn't sure for 59 & wasn't in the mood
to go out & dig out that Manual.

I don't have my Palmer's handy, but I believe that M74
was 1951 only.
Thereafter, they were M74B.
(I'm not certain when the "B" stamp got larger,
perhaps not until the last of the bronze bodies in '65.)

Correction, to my earlier post about a M-74. It was in
fact an M-74B on that 57 Pan I mentioned.
I don't know what the differences might be ?? Yet, other
than what is correct for a specific year. But Linkert's
are not my specialty. But I'm learning!!! ;D
The M-74 came on later 1950-early 51 F & FL
The M-74B came on later '51 -1965 F & FL
The differences, I find is the M-74 fixed jet size is
#17
& the M-74B fixed jet size is #19
Actually even their HD part # is same for both 27130-48
This according to My Palmers...
