If you are referring to the large Idle Bleed gallery plug on the side, the thread is 5/16-32.
You will also find HD (& Indian) grease zirques to be that size, so one might get you home.
But otherwise, you must contact a vintage parts distributor to retail you a correct plug: that's no thread you will find at the hardware store.
I suggest KickStart (616) 245 8991, but you should really have more things than that to make up a decent order.

AAOK has a listing of parts for Linkerts at:

They've got passage blocking body screws (item 5869) sold in packs of 4. But, what you won't find there are decent floats... If you don't have one of Cotton's PEEK foam floats already, you should definitely consider getting one while you've got the Linkert apart!

The 5/16" plug is the next AAOK item 5970.

Just got a 65 FLH that was stored for 30 years before it was made road worthy last year,then let sit for a year.Got all the linkert carb problems.Needle was stuck shut when I got it ,now it won't shut the fuel off.Looks like a new needle & seat but seems to be a little catch when I move the float by hand.First question is what kind of float has the most buoyancy??

I tried using an old life preserver from the Titanic (cork), but it sunk, then I tried brass and it sunk too. Most of us use one of Cotten's Durable floats. Give him the sales pitch Cotten!

I can cut an oversized one if you like, but I aim at original buoyancy.

I just want to THANK YOU! again for the outstanding job you did on my Linkert rebuild. Yesterday's ride was outstanding with the bike purring down the road through the historic Niles Canyon road. Now if I can keep my rear lug bolts tight I will be extremely happy.

Everyone, Cotten did a FIRST CLASS job on my Linkert.
Be aware of rebuilt Linkert's as Cotten found many a glass beads in my spare that I sent him.
