Title:
1949 OEM peacock blue paint color examples
Description: Can anyone direct me to any pics of an example of a 1949 Pan painted in the OEM paint color PEACOCK BLUE
Author: 1950bobber

Can anyone direct me to any pics of an example of a 1949 Pan painted in the OEM paint color PEACOCK BLUE? I've looked at Pierce color charts...but no example of an actual 1949 painted in Peacock Blue has yet to be found! I think the Pan on page 189 in the lower pic of the "Harley Davidson: The Complete History" 2002 by PRC Publishing LTD and edited by Patrick Hook with pics by Garry Stuart....may be this Peacock Blue...but I'm not sure. Any help locating an accurate pic? Thanks guys...

Are you certain "peacock blue" was a legit color for '49?

I have some genuine Congo Green in a can, but modern paints don't match it anyway.
And when I eyeballed the only opaque burgundy available, it came out a perfect Indian Red!

Paint sux.

Hello Cotten...according to my research, PEACOCK BLUE was a '49 color...I believe Palmer's book lists it also. I happened upon a quart of this color....the Ditzler paint charts make this color really beautiful! Anyway.....I may paint my Bobber with it even though my Bobber is a '50!.
