I'm curious about your belt drive. Who made it, is it in a stock aluminum primary, does it require an idler? I ask all these questions because I had an inclosed Primo many years ago, I like belt drives but I always thought that Primo was wearing itself out from the back side of the belt by slapping ...
I had a go cart as a kid. It had a Fairbanks magneto the same mag almost everyone copies for harleys. Two things in this world I ever thought were "KEWK", Fairbanks magnetos and flathead Harley engines. I got my mag for free and promptly screwed it up because I always know what I'm doing.I sent the ...
I second ozwick. I had that same issue on my shovel a few years back. I was baffeled for a few days. It turned out to be the top motor mount cracked and rubbing together. Cheap fix, it was cracked right at the bend where it bolts to the frame. It would only chirp when riding.
I'm thinking about setting up a spare set of jugs for my big twin. QUESTION, at stock specs, what is the difference between a BTSV intake valve and a BTSV exhaust valve besides markings. Are they interchangeable with no ill affects?
Thanx to all who responded. I'm home from a couple weeks at work. My jets arrived while I was away so installed the #30 it seemed to help some. I also had a #330 main so I installed that next. I'm now running 3/4 turn out. It seems to start, idle and run great. I'm gonna run this set up for a few da...
Thanx RUBONE. I was sure it would be an easy fix, But I'm usually GUESSING and I feel a lot better when I get advice from someone who actually KNOWS. I'll bump this thread after I change that jet.
Ok, I've been short riding and around county on week end riding my 38 u bastard bike for a couple plus years now. I gathered parts for seven years and I swear it runs better than any shovel I've ever ridden. If it a'int broke don't fix it. BUT, It has always idled rich. Its a vm 38. I love it as is ...
Curiosity Bump. About 20 years ago I learned that most aftermarket harley points and condensers were junk. I had heard the rumor that 6 cyl. chevy points would work in my cone shovel so I went to napa and got a set of points and a condenser. I've been using napa brand ever since. So my curiosity is,...

I have a friend in Idaho who owns an fx factory belt drive. He bought the bike recently (in the past 5 years). He has an extra belt that he bought. He got it at a stealership. I don't know if he just got lucky, (old stock). or if the part #. is still available. Also his bike is not a sturgis model. ...

I put an 05 Road King front end on my 79 Electraglide. I just used my original trees and headlight. It all bolted right up, same length tubes and all. The 05 had a larger front axle (I had it turned down so I could use my coveted AMF mag wheel.) I have had good brakes ever since. I have the old part...
