1939 harley WLDD for sale

I have a 1939 WLDD for sale the motor is in pieces with no heads
I put the bike together to see that’s missing or not correct
I’m asking $20,000 I was told what I have is extremely rare

39WLDD is indeed a rare model, however it is still a basic 45. Other than the top end on the engine and an extra "D" in the serial number there is nothing about it different from a run of the mill 45, every bit of running gear, sheetmetal, etc is common among all 39 45s. A nicely restored WLDD 'might" bring $25K. For that kind of money most folks could buy a UL, a Panhead, Maybe even a Knucklehead, and about three Shovelheads. Seeing your pictures on other sites, you have very little of a '39 model. To get top dollar it must be VERY correct down to the smallest detail. No 45 will bring 50K. Even well documented WRs with known history have a hard time getting to 30K and they are rarer than a WLDD. All the extra "D" designated was the new heads and cylinders. You appear to have the cylinders but not the heads, as well as many non '39 (and even non 45) parts with that bike. To be top dollar it must have the right date codes, frame hallmarks, etc, etc. Good luck, but you might be sitting on it for quite a while.The rolling chassis with that "G" motor in it is perhaps a $7500 proposition. The WLDD engine without heads is under 5K, and then only because it has the cylinders, otherwise it would drop like a stone.
