I'm putting an Andrews A2 cam in at this moment....hopefully for easier cranking.(I use all leg,no body weight) I also have a 1958 with the HD "H" cam but with hydraulics.(same problem, hard to crank when hot) Am curious as to what pistons and cam your running....by the way, like your bike!......walt...tulsa,ok
Hello Walt,
Say, if you don't plan on hanging onto your H cam, I would be interested in buying it from you if it is in good shape.
If you'd like to discuss it, please send me a Private Message.
Thanks! Tom

Very nice. I re-read your thread and noted you've had the bike since 90 (with 2 small kids) so it sounds like the journey on this one started 27 years ago even though you heated things up in 2012. That's an inspiration to us all. If you get a chance to record some starts and runs on youtube be sure to post links on here for us. I'll bet it sounds sweet.

Thank you , I appreciate that very much ! These things are never really ever done , there’s always something you’d like to tweak

Thank you ! I’ve been riding the bike while I restored it , there haven’t been to many stretches where it was down very long .
I found a perfect 51 frame last summer, that was the longest it was down , about a month . This summer my good friend Dave , finished up my original sheet metal and repainted in Rio blue .

I have watched you transform this bike with pleasure here and at the other site you frequent. your eye for detail(and other guys) is something. takes a bunch of commitment and patience.

I really appreciate that , next project is restoring a 7 bolt windshield, finishing up the turn signals , ( finding the right 6 v flasher ) and I’m sure find some more stuff to keep me busy ;)
This machine is a testament to no matter what you start out with , you can achieve your goals in the end , so I would say to anyone considering a restoration, anything is possible.
