luggage rack question

I have a old style ridged frame, fender mounted, luggage rack stamped Harley Davidson on both ends. I am having trouble finding out when this stamped style was made. I would like to put it on a 46 knuckle, but am hesitant, until I can confirm it is correct for the bike. Can one of you fellows enlighten me.

Without a picture this is a guess, but if it is a rod type with stamped end plates it is aftermarket, H-D never made those racks. The only H-D racks available from the factory were the flat strap fender mount and the large flat type that was axle plate mounted.

El Senor "RU" is correcto mundo, seen thst the ones stamped "HARLEY DAVIDSON", good selling ploy. :roll:

There are some marked Indian that were sold by Indian dealers. All were made by companies like Comisky and Acme. This is typical style;
