4th Colorado Invitational Ride

#1

A group of old friends and I try to get together every couple of years for what we refer to as an "invitational" ride. We only ask those who we know are ready and capable of the event. Most of us have ridden together for over 30 years and we are all members of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the AMCA, even though we live in a wide area. This ride there was me from NM, a couple guys from KS, one from WY, three from PA, and the rest from all over CO. 15 of us rode for three days. We usually ride from 130-180 miles a day on all road types including dirt, and all weather which included rain and a bit of snow. The oldest bike was a '35 Chief (and a beauty at that!), and the newest a '70 Moto-Guzzi belonging to our oldest rider whose '41 Sport Scout he used for years has been sold. The PA boys are the brother, nephew, and good friend of one of the CO guys and well known to the rest of us. Several of the group stepped up to provide bikes to the vising participants. It was a great time as usual with no bike issues of consequence and a good time was had by all. My green 47FL in the group.

Our headquarters for the ride was a small cabin resort in the equally small town of Kremmling. Cold and snowy in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hot in Steamboat Springs..

Nice gathering and riding........I would love to have a group of vintage riders willing to get together every few years to do this.
