Rear fender notch

I found a rear fender for my rigid Pan project hanging from a rafter in a salvage shop. I was concerned about a notch on the left side fender skirt. It's in good shape so I bought it. The notch is very clean and appears to be done by the factory. I haven't confirmed this, but I heard it was done for police sirens either '50 or '51.I couldn't attach a photo. Please advise. Thanks!

Posting a photo isn't that hard. A photo will be a lot of help...

You don't say what type fender it is. There are several different ones for rigid Pans. '48 only, '49- early '51,late 51 up (including the different hinged ends), and all are different in the chain recess area where the siren hole would be.
The factory siren hole is an oval shaped cut out rounded on the ends.
