What would be the best way to strip the chrome off of a swing arm? It has pitted and I want to paint it instead.

Also was there any factory chrome swing arms? Because this one was put on in the very early 80s, and seems to be exact to all the factory ones I have seen.

Give the swing arm to a chrome plating company. They have the chemical process to strip the chrome.
