I need help picking out a new windshield for my '64

My old original windshield had a red lower section and I'd like to replace it because the upper part is in good shape but I can't find anyone still making the parts in red. I can find clear and black though. I've decided to look at an entirely new unit and it looks like Drag Specialties might be the only choice if I want red. Does anyone know of a source for the original parts or any other sources for a good quality complete windshield? Have any of you had experience with the DS piece? They look nice in the pictures and have the beaded edge but sometimes pictures don't tell the whole story. Thanks ahead of time if anyone can help me. Jerry

Hi Curly, I am using national cycle shields. They are a nice unit, but you're kind of stuck using their hardware. On the bottom shield section, they don't extend the bead all the way to the top edge of the glass... it is about an inch short on both sides. Using their clamps covers this up, but if you want to stick with your OEM clamps, it leaves a gap between the end of the bead and the start of the clamp.
I've seen pictures advertising national on eBay that show the full bead, but when I ask, I am always told the bead is short like I've experienced in the past. Most top halves appear to be beaded all the way.

I've seen that part in the past but it isn't shaped like mine and I'm not sure it will fit right. That is the center panel that's supposed to be adjustable and I also need the bigger piece that wraps around it like a horseshoe. My adjustable piece is notched where the seam of the headlight housing comes together and the bottom corners are bent back 90 degrees. Maybe I'm just wanting too much. That eBay part would be fine if I had everything else to go with it. Thanks for the help!

I need # 18 and 19. The part #'s for clear are 58022-49 and 58027-60. I don't know what the numbers would be for red.

I have had good success painting the clear part. You could also apply tint material.

I would check eBay listings , I've seen the inserts sold NOS . They may have been the -56 part number , not sure , yours obviously is a nacelle bike . I bought a windshield from Tedds , ( -49 type) and I'm pretty happy with it after replacing the hardware . It is what it is , and is more like the aftermarket nation -bilt then the HD , because of the end molding clamp having a single fastener . It does the trick and held up very well so far . I think it's nicer then the current national ones imho .

I'm in the process currently of replacing all the windshield glass I'll call it? It is extremely difficult trying to reassemble all the pieces. Anyone have any helpful tips? Not trying to sidetrack the original post. Thanks in advance for any help
