My intake manifold install

I am no expert and this text is offered as is.
Most or this work was from the left side of motor.
I used the James Gaskets kit with Viton o-rings (nice stuff).
1963 FLH with S&S manifold and carb. Clamps are the type with the threaded bar.
Photos may not be in sequence.
Procedure:
Use very little grease.
Insert manifold between heads from the left side of engine, angled down slightly.
Next allow o-rings to pop into the gaps between the heads. Then roll the bands in position, capturing the o-rings. If o-rings slip out start again. Might take several attempts. Then tighten the clamps.
This works for the types of clamp/o-ring/band set shown.
Last pictured is the 2” rubber stopper and valve stem I used with a bicycle pump I used to bubble test (I don’t have a compressor.

Position clamps above orings. Maybe hold with light copper wire.

Second update: First trial fit just the manifold and orings to check gap between the heads. Should be just tight enough to capture orings with only slight compression. If too loose or too tight the heads may need repositioning (consult the manual).
