What's a better Connection, Flare or 'Rubber'

Post by rozemab » Sun Nov 19, 2017 4:47 pm

I have the option of using either method of connection. The 37 deg flare (I assume its 37 degrees) or the 'rubber doughnut'.

Curious what collective thinks about either method of plumbing in my external oil filter.

The rubber seal is factory. The flare seems a more rigid connection and used throughout the non-filter design. The rubber seal is more forgiving but subject to wear...?

Your thoughts ?
