trans fliud leak from middle-backside

First off I want to give you guys here on this forum a big big THANKYOU, I've gotten SO MUCH valuable info from this forum I want you to know how grateful I am. Now my current question is concerning a small amount of trans fluid that appeared to leak out a tube located about middle-backside of trans, this is not the tube to oil the chain, and with the bike on the jack I can't really get close enough to see exactly where it could come from, has anyone else ever had this happen and is it some type of overflow, this happened only once the bike was level and in the air. Thanks again for your help.

58 pans use a vent screw in the tranny lid, any tube someone did something.

Bob, Is the tube metal or rubber? The primary cover drain is between the engine and transmission (near the bottom of the clutch) and is a tube directed towards the center of the frame. Or it could be a redirected breather if you have a belt drive primary. However it sounds like primary oil which can run out when the bike is upright especially if the front is higher than the rear.

The tube is definitely metal and I would guess at 3/16" o.d. and from what you said about a primary drain could be the answer. I'm leaving work early and will actually crawl under the bike and stick my head up into the area close enough to see some detail to this tube, when it started leaking out I did actually witness the fluid coming from this tube, and again it wasn't much at all, maybe 1 oz if that, I haven't owned this bike very long and once it was delivered I rode for about 3 hours and noticed the brake light didn't work, so one thing led to another and I decided to do a little work on it (maybe more than I originally thought) before taking it back out again, and at the moment all I need to do is replace the rear brake shoes, bleed the brakes and then inspect/replace the front brake shoes and it will then be ready for a ride. I will get back with my findings on Monday. Thanks again.

RUBONE was correct, the tube I was questioning ran over to the primary cover, once I got my head up under the bike I could see it.

I like to run that tube so it dumps on the rear tire, gotta get some excitement when you can.
