I'm in too!

John, I was in "America's Dairyland" a few weeks ago, doing this year's ABC's of Touring on the old flathead. Scored some great Leinenkugels beer, cheese and bratwurst on my way through Wisconsin! Here's a pic in front of the old Harley factory on Juneau Ave. Gotta luv those old red hardtails!

see ya in Davenport, I guess I'll have to bring the 49 Pan instead of the flatty.

Oh, I forgot to point out the 75th Anniversary FL sitting behind my bike, to the right of the front wheel. The thing was CHERRY, it must belong to one of the employees and he rides it to work. It's a 1979 AMF shovel, but, what the heck, he rides it and that's worth a lot of points in my book!

Ride 'em, don't hide 'em!

DuoGlide62,

Is that some kind of backrest you have on the seat? I have the same rail on the solo seat on my 49 HydraGlide and I always thought it would be better on long rides if I could rig up a backrest.

Great looking bike!

Yeah, it's a stock backrest from a '60's buddy seat.
I had it re-done in leather many, many years ago. Works real good.

Time?

The deals go down on Thursday, and by Saturday noon many vendors start pulling out.

The real climax is the Friday night races, and only serious judging keeps anyone around for Sunday...

I wish I could stick around just to clean up the grounds.

The shady spot is directly in front of the Race Gate on the southeast end of the main vendor field. Camping space fills in quickly there, as it is conveniently close to the showers and the grass is well mowed.

The well-lit promenade is also the prime parking area for the weekend warrior locals after Race Time, so I don't get much sleep in Chez Toyota!

This will probably rate right up there with who really cares....but....due to the recent passing of my employer, and with that turning into unemployment for me,...I must unfortunately and with much regret, say that I will not be attending Davenport this year....BUT....I do expect a bunch of pictures and stories.....Thanks, and you guys have a ball.......Skip

You're not alone Skip, I'm gonna have to bow out myself because I just don't think my bike is right yet, I've had it running for about 6 months now and thought I had all the bugs out but I can still hear pinging when it's warm and I'm afraid of doing damage to my valve train. I'm changing to low compression pistons and will be ready for next season. Ya'll have fun....
