Anders had an 8 X 10 of his previous machine. He held it back at first. Didn't want to show it to me. Panhead. Dresser. Jukebox too! Everything on it was chromed, except the tires.
Said this red flathead was sold to continue the ductile Knuckle head R&D. Not a story you hear everyday. Flathead Power is still here. Bully for them.

Rat Contest?
nobody told me about the rat competition. How about a pitted black front rim and a peeling chrome back rim? Did I mention the rigged up Honda megaphone jammed on the other side to keep the heat off my right boot heel? Does this one qualify?
you know what they say...Ride it like you stole it, or just ride it. whatever it takes to keep it on the road

I've got a wall full of plastic trophys for "Rat Class" (And nothing else!)
So I claim authority to declare that nothing posted so far comes close to a righteous Rat.
They both are righteous,...period.
The term 'Rat" is obviously being stretched to its limit, like "chopper", or (gag me with a spoon, fer sure, dude...) "old school".
Rats are an endangered species in light of DiscoveryChannel banality and over-the-counter, bubblepak, catalog# 'customization'.
A true Rat preserves the survivalist integrity of the man-and-his-machine bond that created motorcycling as we know it.
(Apologies immediately for the sexist reference; My wife rides her Rat more than I do mine, so it was only a linguistic contrivance. )
True motorcycling is healthier outside of the USA than it is within it, as the rest of the world is not afraid to waste a machine doing exactly what it was made for.
Milwaukee machines only have the advantage of being resurrected over and over again. Preserving them serves your vanity (or your investment gamble) only. They should be destroyed, over, and over, mile after mile after mile. And then your progeny should have at it.

Here's U.K. Gerald Foster's favourites.

Mine too. What's with the non-ribbed cam cover. '36-37? Ouch, more points collected.

Winner
OK, I'll withdraw my contest entry, the knuck wins. I guess when it actually says "Mighty Rat" on the tank it has to be authentic, hell, it even says Rat on the front tire! Can you still buy those? The ignition "switch" is a nice touch, no messy keys to fumble with at closing time, just twist a couple wires together, kick it and go.
