Silver paint for parts

#1

Post by peteh » Sun Jul 24, 2005 10:17 pm

Picked up an original rear master cylinder at a swap meet the other night. I've got it cleaned up and a rebuild kit ordered. Question is does any body know of a good match for the original silver paint that comes in a rattle can? I think I will do my shift lever and arm while Im at it. Thx

yes, HD still sells this paint. Can't match any better than that.

Unbelieveable. I gave up going into Harley shops looking for stuff for this bike. I usually get nothing but a blank stare from the clown behind the counter.

Who would think ??? I hate going to the 'stealerships' too.
But I have found same thing. If they don't have it on-hand. They can order it!!
Been there, done that!!

You would be amazed at how close Hi-Temp aluminum paint will match this. Just spray it, and when dry, wash it in hot soapy water to get rid of the shiny overspray. Looks factory to me.
