Just wanted to give a thumbs up to the administration here for running a site where many of us feel we are a part of more than just a forum, we are a part of a small group of individuals that all share a love for keeping the old iron on the roads. To be able to communicate with others regarding everything from starting trouble to swap meets is worth it's weight in gold to many of us. A family of both young and old.
I also wanted to let all of you know I needed to change my username to match all my others due to getting old I had trouble keeping them in order. tim

I have been trying to make that picture bigger for some time, I need a good photo edit program as every time I try to upload an avatar the message pops up saying file size too large. to keep it withing the limits required It presents this size. frustrating to say the least. I wish I was better at photo editing. Tim

if you are running XP you can go to the windoze site and download a free image resizing tool.

this also works....

http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm

a stand alone program, and very EASY to use.....
open the program then browse for your pix, open and resize to what you want...
then you are done....

This post has pushed me to update my info too. I can't seem to get the avatar to work either. I downloaded the image resizer and resized it to 120x120 and when I submit it tells me the file size has to be 0-6kib. What now?

Tim
Make sure you send Panhead the full size original of the photo you want to convert to an avatar. I tried to enlarge the one you have but the resolution is so low that the larger version was too blurry to see. If you post the full size photo in your gallery we can do it from there.

BTW, the picture of the Maytag washer from the tractor show made me laugh. In the early sixties my brother and I had a pair of those 2 cylinder Maytag engines and mounted them on chopped down 20" bicycle frames. One of the bikes we chopped up was our sister's, we caught hell for that! We had a lot of fun with them until the neighbor told my Dad we were tearing up his wheat field, we caught hell for that too.

oops, I guess I shoulda looked first, the picture was already in the gallery and it also looks like the avatar is fixed.

Mike,
DIVERSIFY! You don't need another pan, get something different and just plain fun like a WL or a Hummer. But don't ever decide you want to build a VL. If you think that knuck stuff is getting scarce and pricey you should try to put a VL basket on the road.

Bout ten years back I had my chance at a 35 VL and a 28 JD (as I recall) The guy was an old retired jet mechanic, and it was plain to see a gifted mechanic. For eight grand I could have left with the 35, but at the time I'd never heard of that model, or a JD for that matter. I spent the better part of the day with the old guy, and learned a lot about clincher wheels, side valves, total loss oiling and on and on. I think he was sizing me up to see if I would be a worthy caretaker, I might have been about ten years early...A couple years ago I saw those two bikes on one of those antique auction flyers, yup, owned by Worrell Scribner. I would have liked to know how much they went for. Mike
