end pulled off my frt. brake cable

I just finished getting my clutch all set up properly and being that I was pulling on the clutch hand lever a lot I for no reason pulled the frt brake hand lever ,the end pulled right off , nothing severed ,just pilled right out . I remember an old Harley guy when I was a kid saying to solder the ends on.( I'm 65 yrs old now) . Is this the way to go ? I dont know , maybe solder is what the factory should have used. I'm sure glad my bike is 3/4 built when it happened and not finished ,with me coming to an intersection. Any advise will be appreciated.

I would replace the cable, you can just replace the inner cable if the outer matches the bike.
The ends were silver soldered by the factory, however without experience or the correct solder if will break at the worst possible time.
