I don't know that the actual type of pinch bolt is all that important, but I think a balance job might be necessary after installation.

Has that one been modified to fit a smaller drum, or do they all have the 3 pads welded to the inside diameter?

Mine looks identical and I have it on my 62 drum, and I've seen several that look like that also, so I think that's normal.

THE PADS ARE CAST WITH THE RING. THEY HAVE SET SCREWS IN EACH ONE. DOESN'T LOOK TO BE MODIFIED IN ANYWAY? I CAN'T FIND MY EXTRA FRONT DRUM, SO I'LL HAVE TO WAIT TILL I INSTALL IT ON SOMETHING.

THANKS,,,,,,,,,TONY.........

I guess my initial post never made it in so here it is again.
The pads allow the ring to fit tightly on a drum that is cast and perhaps not exactly round on the OD.
The polished side goes out and the lip of the drum fits in the recess. The rough side is hidden by the hub cap.
The bolt is 1/4-28 x 1-1/4 "1038 CP" cad plated along with the nut and washer.

That limited contact area pretty much rules out any actual cooling, yes?

Not entirely, of course, Kitabel,..

But the result is even more undesireable!

THANKS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

FIRST ONE I'VE EVER BEEN ABLE TO CAPTURE. SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF WORK WENT INTO, A MORE OR LESS FANCY ITEM. THE SET SCREW HOLES WERE TAPPED FROM THE CENTER OUTWARD. EVEN THE SET SCREW IS INSTALLED FROM THE SAME DIRECTION. MY MONEY ISN'T BURNING A HOLE IN MY POCKET ANY MORE! JEANS ARE COSTLY!

THANKS AGAIN, TONY..............

Several types were made in the aftermarket for earlier drums. Some were shrunk on and work much better as cooling...
