Panhead Intake Manifold - Installation and Testing

#1

Post by steve_wood » Mon Aug 22, 2011 8:37 pm

Folks,

The subject of intake manifold seems to come up quite often. The experts have no problems with this component, but some us who are newer to panheads may find it challenging to solve intake manifold problems.

So, I thought it might be useful to put together some notes on this subject.

It would be really helpful if others could take a look at it - I'm sure I've made some mistakes.

Remember, this is geared towards people who have never dealt with this issue before.

Bring on the flames!

Steve!

Since I have problems often, if not almost daily, with intakes,
I am saddened and dismayed that I may never live long enough to become an expert.

Hope to read your treatise when I get to a modern computer that can open it!

Your effort is greatly appreciated,

....Cotten
PS: My immediate problem is an "original paint" Knuck that displayed a leak beneath the spring cup. Consider dealing with that.

Hi Steve:

Maybe a bit of overkill, as you state, but I do thank you for taking the effort to put this together.

What color is that bike? I really like the green.
