Tank Emblem Painting

Post by 48moon » Wed Dec 14, 2005 4:10 am

Anyone have experience re-painting the lettering and designs on tank emblems? Is it easier to tape them and spray or just use a small brush with a steady hand? I'm putting the red back on my 47'-50' speed-ball emblems. If any knows what shade of red was used on these emblems, it would be of great help.

I painted my original set of '59-'60 tank emblems black a long time ago (now I wish I hadn't). I was happy with the job that I did using a small brush with a steady hand. Paint also cleans off chrome pretty easy. Now after 25 years I touched them up with a black marker although I'm running a replica red set right now. Clueless on the color red you need though.
