Post by 55panFL » Wed Jul 03, 2013 12:25 am

I have this same spacer on my 55FL and thought it was something someone added untill I seen the same on here in this picture of one listed on ebay. spare parts book don't show this in the parts list. it shows both sides as being the same. does anyone have any info? the part in question is with the arrow!

The spacer is used for clearance on the true dual exhaust offered as an option from '54 up. It moves the spring out far enough to clear the pipe.

Well, since that picture is not of post '54 model with true duals from the factory and on the left side it may be a bit hard to see....

OK, since no one wants to believe me and prefers to theorize about its application I will resort to printed truth. So you can disagree with me all you like but hard to disagree with this...
