Auxilary Seat spring
I have this same spacer on my 55FL and thought it was something someone added untill I seen the same on here in this picture of one listed on ebay. spare parts book don't show this in the parts list. it shows both sides as being the same. does anyone have any info? the part in question is with the arrow!

The spacer is used for clearance on the true dual exhaust offered as an option from '54 up. It moves the spring out far enough to clear the pipe.

Well, since that picture is not of post '54 model with true duals from the factory and on the left side it may be a bit hard to see....Stupid question time, what pipe?

I thought it was to clear the side mounted police oil tank?
