Storing gas tanks

#1

Post by xnoahx » Sun Feb 03, 2008 9:18 pm

Im changing out my 3.5s for 5 gal tanks and I am wondering what I can do to prep the tanks for storage. I dont want them to rot away on the inside. I know ideally keep them in a dry place and all that.

the sevice manual says to use a 50/50 mix of gas and oil. swish around the inside and dump out. the gas will evaporate and leave an oily film.

in the past i have found LPS #3 to be a good protector of bare metal parts in storage. even stuff that was freshly bead blasted prior to storage.
