Hi guys,
tired of peering into my side fill tank to determine how much life I have left. Anyone got some kind of dipstick that works? Haggis.

57Stroker,
just got the Rubber Bung ( Chrome top) that came with the tank....Have you heard of a side fill dipstick? Would be cool if I could find one with a temp gauge in the top.
Thanks, haggis

If you have a buddy running a late model, see if his cap will fit. There are a couple of dipstick lengths. My oiltank had a side fill when I bought the basket case. It was a screw in and I made a bushing that was the same I.D. as my Sporty and TIG'ed it in place of the threads. I ordered another dipstick from Custom Chrome and it was too long. I had to cut part of it off. The rubber part is always pulling out of the chrome cap. I would go back to the dealer and buy one from them. Never had a problem with the one that came stock on my Sporty.
