I just noticed my fork lock is gone! vibrations must have been too much for it...saw one on ebay, and noticed a groove down at the bottom and was wondering if a snap ring of some sort was what held it in place...can I just buy a NOS and "push" it (with a new ring of course) into the fork to repair? I always liked that I had the original and it worked!

I'm not sure on yours but on a wishbone there is a roll pin that holds the cylinder in place. What year is it?.... Mike

It is a 1964

The neck lock is held in place by a pin through the neck lock boss located approx. at 2 o'clock.

I took a closer look and I believe the inner part of the lock (the part that turns) is what came out! Looks like I will have to replace the whole thing!

I can't seem to get the original lock out of my 64 FLH before acid dipping the frame. How can I get an exploded view of the lock to see what's hanging it up?

The only thing that holds the lock in the hole is the roll pin(other than paint/dirt/crud. Like VPHD said, look at 2:00 on the lock boss and you should see the roll pin. I don't think you could drill it out without removing the front end. Maybe you could screw a slide hammer into the lock to jerk it out, shearing the pin in the process. otherwise if you have a dremmel just grind inside the lock cylinder at 2:oo till you reach the outer lock bore diameter,freeing the lock....Mike
