how can you tell original gas tanks from after after market

If you had a set of OEMs next to a set of repops, you could tell. The shape just isn't 'right'--- particularly near the small end of the tanks. When mounted, the repops don't really looked like a mirrored matched set, one side seems higher than the other at the rear portion near the seat post. And they don't seem to taper in far enough, either.
At least that's been my experience.............
