1956 frame repaired

Post by joe » Thu Dec 09, 2010 2:13 am

Hi List,

Excuse me if this post should go in another section, but I just had to rant (positively). I just got my 56 frame back from Headhog (the guy that rebuilds all the heads). Don (the proprietor) replaced the neck, backbone, intermediate backbone, pieced new downtubes in, replaced the upper motor mount, replaced the muffler hanger tab on the right axle plate, welded the tool box bracket on, and straightened the frame. The frame had been chopperized in the 60's.

Don's craftsmanship is outstanding! I mocked up the tanks, seatpost etc. and everything is spot on. You cannot tell the downtubes were spliced together and his welds look perfect. The guy is an absolute perfectionist.
