Routing for positive cable on 1965 FL

#1

Hey Cotten, hoping you can help me out here, What is the correct routing for positive cable my 65? Goes from the Starter solenoid to the positive Batt post I think. Does the cable go up by the coil and across the top of the oil tank, or below and around the clutch arm, seem sreally tight any way I route it. Thanks . ???

I've seen some pretty sweet looking 65 FLH's on here, surely someone has been out wiping the dust off theirs, and can talke a quick look at how they ran the positive cable. ;)

It woulda been easier to have used the personal message function.
(New threads are not highlighted for me after dinnertime.)

There is a retaining bracket that bolts to the oiltank support, on the right side of the seatpost. I suspect the Factory somehow routed it in with the oil lines. It wouldn't be the stupidest thing on a '65.

I avoid it (dammde judges!) and carefully pre-bend is as best as possible, and use wireties where ever the purists can't ever see it. In fact the Factory used elsewhere metal straps like wireties on the brakeline, etc.

I have never really encountered an unmolested '65; just "professed" ones.
