Voltage regulator

#1

Post by jarhead » Sun Jun 28, 2009 11:57 am

Always had a solid state voltage regulator on my converted 12 volt generator pan. The solid state regulator took a dump. I am now looking for a mechanical one. Is there a preference in manufacturers? Bosch over Delco Remy? I can acquire a original bosch on the internet that fits a older sportster 16 amp.Would it be mechanical though? Originality is no concern.Thanks.

An original 12V Bosch for a Sportster would be mechanical.

Kick only Sportster regulators work with the little batteries, but they drink a lot of water.

jarhead,

I have a 12V mechanical that is basically brand new. I put it on when I converted to 12V then swapped it out when I went to a Cycle Electric End Mount on my Generator. I think I paid $70 for it but will take $20 for it plus shipping.

I purchased it from H&K Cycles here in California. "Generator Dan" told me he has been running these for years. The regulator is a D665. The other number for the regulator is VR13914. It is aftermarket but made in the USA.

Let me know if interested and I will get it out.
