Electrical Question RE:Terminal Box Insulation

#1

Post by Scrap » Tue Sep 06, 2011 6:12 am

I want to add a couple of terminals to the terminal box on the center post. What is an effective method of insulating the posts from the sheet metal. I took off an existing post and expected to find a shouldered fibre insert or a grommet or something. What keeps the post from working its way into contact with ground? Am I missing something? Please advise.
Thanks

You ansewed your own question. There should be a shoulder fiber washer from the rear and a flat from the front. A steel flat washer on each side and a internal tooth lock washer under the nut. Old Dude sells the fiber washers sepretly. All hardware is cad plated. Bob L
