rjs581!

Have you consulted your Parts Book?

You probably have received no replies because mirrors were not mounted upon windshields from the Factory, as far as I know...

Guess you have to use the old "trial and error-"method.
This shouls work, only takes some more time.

i could have all that wrong also mr. cotten. this shield has tabs on the outside of the horizontal bars that looks like the mirrors would mount on. then again probably a lot of operator error here. just way too many brackets in this big bag of parts. as far as trial and error i've had it on a couple of diff ways and each way would work ,but only one way is right. if you think it's not an original shield then i should probably locate some mirrors from the correct year and mount on the bars. thanks

thanks 62 duo..that does help..bracket 24-25 are different in the setup here..must be an old aftermarket..my dad never put this on his bike but he said most of those parts came with the bike in a bag..he wants to go with no shield if it's not right..now i gotta find the mirrors..between his old cars and a shop he's had for 50 yrs you can only imagine what it's like finding anything..thanks again everyone

has anyone seen one where brackets #24 & #25 were cast aluminum?
I have one and there are no numbers or identification on it. Saving $ for
plastic panels to install on Johnny Cash pan.

Also remember to install the brackets on the sides of the tins with the offset toward the headlite, this makes the windsheild "bow", which keeps it from looking flat like a billboard. Mine was assembled incorrectly when I first got it, really looked odd.

Good point Panacea (and great pics Rick!)

My wife's servi, which has the same front end, had the brackets reversed when we got it, looked really wierd. Murphy's Law: if it's possible to install it two different ways it will invariably be installed the WRONG way.

I hope you also have all the correct spacers in your bag-o-parts.

RJS, the brackets at the ends of the horizontal support are to hold the "bead" on the edge of the window.

This is slightly off-topic-I am putting a windshield on my '52 FL, and I am not sure how it works. I ordered the V-Twin Peaked windshield, their PN 51-0260, alomg with the V-Twin 49-0167 Bracket set. I am not sre that this includes everything I will need.

Does anyone have any idea what is included in these Items? The V-Twin catalog and web site are not very descriptive.

Doe anyone have a good closeup shot that shows how the 49-59 windshield mounts?

WHat is the length of the spacers that go between the fork and the windshield brackets?

And are they angled, or just staright cylinders?

The spacers are 1/2" long and are used on the top bolts only on my 51, my side brackets are also spotlite brackets. Mike
