Go www.worshamcastle.com Michael has very good pics of the correct bags/years. And clicking on a particular one brings up a nice high resolution pic

Here's the buckles and bands.
Good luck,

CJ!

Those are very admirable '49 bags.

For '50, the embossed buckle design changed, and the bands were slightly wider.

All should have a 'bar and shield' with wings stamped on the front of both lids, although often it is quite faint.

Apparently the WCCL site does not fully open for me?
I found only a set with modern hardware that was barely "close".

Thanks for the info Cotten
Here is a link to the WCL sight with a picture of the 48-49 bag
http://www.worshamcastle.com/images/ima ... ag_JPG.jpg
Looks just like mine only a bit "newer"
When I went to his site before I was looking for a 51 example, did not think to look at 48/49
I have tried to email WCL a couple of times but it keeps getting kicked back
Guess I will have to call instead

DuoGlide62-Rick,

Are you looking for a set of these bags? Or any other '49 parts?

Thanks, Tony.

CJ!

I saw those, but surely those are not to be taken to be anything like the originals.

I might just know where I could come up with a rose buckel to trade for a lens like this.

Panz4ever,

The lens looks like an early Guide turn signal lens. E-mail me, tmurdock@zoominternet.net. I can't seem to get a photo anywhere on this site but the gallery section. I bought some PanHead junk from an old timer that had been stored in a barn for many years. I think there '49 bags that need restored. Not great, but are a very good base set. I'll send photos to your e-mail address.

Thanks, Tony.
