Fender Chevrons

Post by MrWmnHtr » Thu Jul 15, 2010 11:01 pm

At one time I had see a rear fender with 3 pair of chrome chevrons. Can anyone tell me or better yet, show me a picture of the placement of these chevrons. Information about what model years they were on or were they just an option? Also info on the placement of duo glide emblems on the front fenders?

The fender chevrons (or more commonly called Sergent Stripes) were standard on '49 to '51 civilian bikes. Most police bikes did not have them. In '52 they changed to a single , wider stripe and in '55 disappeared forever. The true fender chevron was a front fender piece on the '40 Deluxe models.
