Rear Crash Bar Mounting

#1

Post by Wreckman » Tue Nov 16, 2010 2:17 am

I have my 56 completly down. I am going to add a rear crash bar as the build comes together. Where does the top bar mounts go. I am putting on a solo seat and was going to weld shut the buddy seat bracket holes on the fender. I don't need these for the bar mounting I hope.

you really don't need to weld up those holes in the fender, ALL of the fenders came from the factory with the holes, if there was no buddy seat or auxiliary spring yoke hook installed on the fender they put the screws in it to fill the holes.

if somebody doesn't beat me to it I'll post a couple pics of the rear crash bar mounting tomorrow.

I may be wrong but I believe it mounts to the upper studs on the fender mount straps. Hope this helps. Eric

I thought the cross hatched area on mine was a defect, but looking at Dave's, I guess not.

Wreckman, keep in mind if you're not keeping the buddy seat spring bracket, you will need a couple spacers to fill the space.
