question about the carb control wire.

#1

Post by panhead55 »

hello everyone. i need a little advice or even a picture too. i decided to use internal throttles so i now have a hard line running to the linkert carb. before i tighten down the wire (where does the throttle lever need to be positioned?) im running the tall throttle lever with two holes at the top of the arm. thanks,

-billy

Billy,
You can run it in either hole. The one closet to the centerline gives you a faster throttle action, the further out one is slower. It depends on how you like to ride, the faster action is also less of a fine control setting. Be sure to roll the throttle open slightly before connecting the wire so that when rolled off it closes completely. Also check to make sure it opens all the way (Look into the carb throat). The standard setting is the slow acting one.

That is good info, rubone. Is the two hole oem in 1965?
