1959 pan with 1965 exhaust rear connection pipe

I was checking out my dual crossover exhaust system for a 59 pan and noticed the pipe 65538-65 is (1965-1969) .What I should have the book shows is 65505-58 (1958-1964) and (65465-36 (1941-1964)
The 1965 pipe is a one peice that comes from under the engine and is flattened to fit through there and the frame, it continues along and has Y port for the pipe from the rear cyl.port to join up to.
The book shows my 59 should have the flattened part as a single peice that joins to the peice with the Y which is a single peice, and they clamp together.I know the frame is taller in the 65 and later years ,I'm wondering if the engine would sit higher in the frame?? My question is ..is the 1965 one peice connection pipe going to repace the 2 peices that were used in 1959 ? everything looks like it should but ,it doesn't quite seem to be lining up .Maybe if I lifted the eng a tad (momentarilly )I could gain some wiggle room .I put this connection peice in before the eng so its in place ,and not pinched at all .I can wiggle it around quite a bit ,but I'm just checking to see if theres a reason why maybe I should stop now and order the 2 peice connection. I'm not going for a 100 point restoration ,just a bike that looks like the 59's did. So far everything is pretty well exact looking .

The 65 pipe you have probably has a mounting tab in the primary area. Without a way to secure it, the system will be problematic. The pipe you have may also stick out a lot further than the correct crossover pipe. This is the set up I had when I initially started my bike. It always leaked.

I think the pipe on the primary side is correct ,it has no mounting tab,but I havn't got that far yet ,I put the connection pipe under the engine before installing it because it woildn't fit otherwise .Thats how I came to have the connector pipe in place, and then got wondering how come it was a one peice instead of two. Now I'm wondering about the cross over lol.
