Leaking exhaust at heads and pipes

#1

Newly finished 52 pan has black soot pushing it's way past exhaust connections at cylinder heads and squish pipe. What do you use to seal these areas?
I will be taking these pipes off again to clean and reseal. Everything that is new and clean, now has black exhaust streaks on it.

I use High temp silicone on these connections. If your pipes are aftermarket, check the slots in the enxpanded end that connects to your heads. I find welding the wide slots up and sloting them with a hacksaw works better. The slots come too wide and deep and the exhaust port on the head usually will only have an 1/8" without a slot to seal.
