Can't say for sure if the gear would index on the shaft one way and not the other. Why not just go through the procedure of timing per the manual and be certain. Dividing 360 by the number of teeth on the gear tells ya basically how far out you could possibly be, degree wise that is. Don't forget to take into consideration mechanical advance and retard. If the gear is not symetric, I can't imagine it being off more than one tooth either way....bosheff
