Weak fork springs

Post by 59pan » Thu Jun 27, 2002 9:08 pm

Description: Weak fork springs

I have been told that you can stiffen up tired fork legs by machining an aluminum plug 2-3 inches long and inserting on top of the springs under the fork caps. I have a side car front end (adjustable rake). Has anyone tried this and does it work?

There were spacers earlier, (46045-49) shown in the (grey) 1941-1954 Spare Parts book. Not shown, as a continued part, in the 1958-1968 Parts book.
