raked trees for sale?

#1

Post by ratlsnkshk » Fri Feb 24, 2012 7:45 am

I need to get some raked trees to reduce the trail on my ride. One member has offered an Allied set that he thinks has a ten degree rake, but that would be too much for my seven degree raked neck, possibly creating negative trail. Without installing them I won't be able to tell for certain, so I hope someone here has a set that is seven or less; preferably 3-6.

Ratlsnkshk, If you only need 3 degrees offset fork cups would probably be cheaper and a lot easier to find. They are available from multiple venders. IMHO

thanks for the idea, but I've seen elsewhere here that these change the rake, but do not reduce the trail. By sketching a diagram, I can see why-these change the virtual neck angle, just like raking the frame; so they increase the trail, not what I want to accomplish!

Yes. Using raked cups will make your trail even longer. Not what you are looking for.

Great article on what is trying to be accomplished here...I used to have a set of the Kennedy adjustables that were pretty nice

Maybe a dumb idea, but if you want to de-rake it why not use the offset cups and install them backwards??
Hey just a thought...Respectfully
