Hot wash for oily undersides!

After fixing a bad oil leak on my Panhead, I remembered hot water heaters have a regular garden hose Spigot at the bottom. Hooked up a hose with a nozzle - even has full pressure. Sprayed the undersides down with solvent and then hosed it off with hot water! More convenient than riding down to the car wash and cheaper too.

Many laundry sink faucets have threads that allow connection of a garden hose; for some that may be a more convenient way to get hot water.

Be careful if you use a pressure washer on your bike. It's easy to get water into places where you don't want it.
