I got some buffing supplies in today that allowed e to get into some of the tight places that I missed on the first go-around...

Just a few more spots to work, and I'm done with the adapter ..

Next to throw on a shine is the intake ...

Will you be using stainless nuts, screws and washers to go with? I use the washers everywhere, and the screws and nuts in other than hi-stress areas, and ALWAYS use antisieze with the SS hardware.....

Made a order to Colony for Acron chrome nuts and A/N washers....

Image

Don't have a lot of room on the carbs, so I might be shaving down about a 1/3 of the hex on the acorn nuts ... ???
Being the mounting studs will be solid a bit of blue locktite will keep them in place ....
Most likely, also the acorns will see purple locktite .... Don't want that shi .... errrrr .... stuff coming loose..!!

Dang .... Thought I was close to being done ..... :x

Guess not !!

Wanna hear a good one ... ??

Was needing a gasket to go between the intake manifold and the adapter ....
S&S don't have any, so the hunt lead to W&W Cycle ....
They have a gasket kit that's being made in Japan for the S&S Two Throat Carbs ....

In that kit are two of the gaskets that I'm in need of ... But I need only one ... Oh well, got a spare .. :D

So, why not cut a gasket? That shouldn't be a hill for a mountain man. That is what I would do, but then, what do I know?

I'm a lazy SOB ...

But to be honest about it, the plans are to find a used S&S Two Throat carb for a back-up if these don't act right..
I'll have a rebuild kit waiting in the wings...
(Minis one gasket)

The Two Throat will bolt right up to that manifold ..
