Are '39 clutch discs different from '41 and up? What are the differencences? Are the same year front and rear brake shoes diferent from later ones and how so? Where can I source these parts?

The '39 WL has a small rearbrakedrum.
Shoelinings are the same front and rear (4114-35).
The '41-up has a wider reardrum; the front shoelining is the same as the '39, the rear is wider/ different (4114-41).
Just ordering two pair of (front) linings (4114-35) should be ok for your '39..eBay is full with them, NOS.

The clutchplates for the '40-up have anti-clatter springs, and I'm not sure the '39 have them too..

The clutch changed completely in '41 so no parts from '40 back interchange. Clutch plates are radically different.

Faber Cycles have the metal clutch plates, if you need them and Way Back Wheels have the fiber discs
