still trying to start my 50' Pan...tried using Quick Start spray...got a strong kickback ...two kicks later got what sounded like a backfire without a kickback...just wondering what this is telling me...bike was stored dry for about 25 years..checked points...new plugs..gas ...oil....also, I have opened low speed jet about 4 turns..thanks for any help...

Kickback is because timing is too far advanced.

I suggest start by ensuring points are shiny clean, check/reset the gap, then accurately set the timing full advance setting.
Retard timing with timer control for kick starting.

Hope this helps.
