old fuel in crankcase(?)

A recent purchase of a 55 Pan revealed that the PO had left it sit several years w/o draining the fuel. When we put fresh fuel into the tanks, the carb started to leak indicating the needle valve was stuck open. Removed the gummed up carb for soaking and noticed the telltale dried fuel in the bottom of the intake manifold. Now I'm wondering if that gas didn't leak past the cylinders and down into the crankcase. Whats the best method to inspect and or/clean it out(other than teardown)? Engine was given a complete rebuild just prior to being put away.

Remove engine drain plug, see what comes out.

Else you could disconnect the oil return line and waste it into a bucket.

Since the bike sat for so long, changing the oil would be a good thing to do whether or not some fuel had leaked into the crankcase.

Remove the drain plug. Allow new oil in case and slowly kick engine to hopefully dislodge any dried fuel. Reopen drain and kick again to try to get out. Let the oil drain on paper towels to see what may have been in there.

Inspection revealed both intake valves were closed and no evidence of fuel residue in the heads. A micro camera will go down the timing plug soon and see if there is anything there. If no residue evidence then a start will be attempted after the oil change. Thank you all.

I wouldn't take the drain plug out unless the engine was out of the bike. Its position just makes it too easy to crossthread going back in and you will accomplish little by taking it out.
