Tyres
Tyres
Hello,
I'm nearly finishing my UL restoration.
I would like to buy Avon MKII 5.00-16 tyres. Today I found 5.00 - 16 Conti Tyres - model K112.
Do anybody has got these tyres on original look Knuckle or UL. I'm worried because of the size of these tyres. Original fenders are huge, and if the tyres are too small it looks silly.
Another question is the quality and adherence on wet road. Maybe you have got any experience?

or Avon

Thank you in advance

Avon MKII is similar but different
Continental has a different tread.

Re: Tyres
Valid concern, but no matter what Tire I put on them, they all look quirky.

Re: Tyres
one word of caution, I don't know about the Conti's, but the Avons are very slick when brand new. (it's a protective coating) be very cautious until you get them scuffed-up. If the concrete around your shop or garage is smooth or polished your bike may try to get out from under you.
The Avons fill vintage fenders very well, wear well, most I've had balanced easily, and work front/rear. My 65 currently runs Shinko E270's because I wanted 1" White Walls, they do not wear as well.
All the straight sipe tires are squirrelly on grooved roads.
