I am putting together a 62 Duoglide and included in the parts box there was a straight crossover tube and a 45 that crosses over the fender. can anybody let me know which is the correct tube for that year.

Well, this is interesting, the Harley Parts Manual 1958-68 calls for two different tubes: 1948-68 Hand shift all, and 1960-67 Footshift, with no other explanation as to whether it is bent or not. How about it, Robbie?

Angled is for foot shift, short straight for hand.

Handshift bikes have the brake lever on the left, footshift bikes have it on the right. The rest is self explanatory.
